Xerox iGen3 & Variable Data Printing

The challenge for owners of a Xerox iGen3 or Xerox 6060 is how to take advantage of the power offered by a high volume, digital copier in reaching out to potential print clients. The goals are two-fold, discover cost savings and drive revenue growth.

George Linkletter, a columnist for Output Links, addressed an innovative new process earlier this year in a piece on customer communication that can be found here. Linkletter writes about all-in-one pieces, in which a direct mail piece is also the envelope. The fully customizable product is a solid example of the power of variable data printing. With the color envelope, commercial printers can offer a cost effective and unique product to customers.

The key to selling variable data printing is to create distinct products that show clear savings to clients and are eye catching. Take advantage of the power of high speed, color digital duplicators with quicker turnaround and a higher level of individualized service.

Xerox Profits Rise

Xerox profit's rose last quarter, thanks to a one-time tax-related gain and improved profits on digital color equipment and the toner that the Xerox iGen3 runs on. The full breakdown of the numbers is available here.

The real profit engine for Xerox continues to the Xerox 6060 and Xerox iGen3, as commercial printers need the color and black ink that Xerox supplies. The sales of supplies and parts is being supported now by Xerox service and consulting offerings, as customers are looking for complete solutions.

Digital Copier Lease Calculator

If you're looking for a ballpark estimate of what your copier lease might cost, a great place to start is a lease calculator.

The link above takes you to a calculator that will let you figure out your approximate monthly payments based on interest rate and the amounts involved. It lets you factor how many payments you want to make, what the residual amount will be, and the interest rate on your equipment lease. More importantly this lets you know the class of copier you can afford to lease.

You should always have an idea of the costs of a given copier lease because then you can budget accordingly and assess the numbers offered to you by an equipment leasing broker. It's important to be able to assess your expected revenue according to print runs in relation to your costs.

JJ Bender Sells Second Previously Owned Xerox iGen3

As part of its new Xerox iGen3 training curriculum, JJ Bender announced today that it has sold a second Xerox iGen3, close to the anniversary of its first documented independent resale of the latest digital copier from Xerox.

“The market expects big things from our company and we’re proud to be able to deliver the largest digital equipment on the market,” said Jeffrey Bender, President of JJ Bender LLC.

Over the past year, the color specialists at JJ Bender have been working to establish the aftermarket for Xerox iGen3 parts, supplies, and peripherals. The company has been able to put Xerox iGen3 owners in contact with each other and help them realize cost efficiencies. Those partnerships and consumer demand led JJ Bender to develop a curriculum specifically designed to educate corporations about the true costs of owning or leasing a Xerox iGen3.

Under its Xerox iGen3 training program, JJ Bender has taught clients how to avoid down time and match their equipment to their needs. Companies are put in touch with experts in variable data printing in order to more effectively market new capabilities offered by digital technology. The curriculum also includes an educational section on leasing, thanks to a partnership with JJ Bender’s sister company Graphic Savings Group, with discussion of the residual value of equipment and the terms of a Xerox iGen3 lease.

“A Xerox iGen3 represents a significant investment for any corporation, we make sure that a company has established a solid foundation and can forecast future revenues and costs,” said Andrew A. Bender, CEO of the Graphic Savings Group.

The Xerox iGen3 Training Program has led JJ Bender to form partnerships with some of the largest commercial printers in the country, who are able to exchange ideas and provide overflow or short-term coverage.

“We continue to offer innovative solutions that are changing the way we do business. That's why this company remains as exciting as when I started it in 1980,” said Mr. Bender.

JJ Bender is not affiliated with Xerox, but is an independent reseller of previously owned Xerox digital copiers and printers.

Canon iR 110 and Digimaster 9110 More Affordable?

New products are consistently being introduced to the digital copier marketplace and that is good news for those looking for previously owned, high volume digital duplicators and printers. Canon rolled out four new imageRUNNER products this past weekend at the Graph Expo in Chicago. That means the Canon imageRUNNER 110, that runs on the same engine as the Digimaster 9110, and the IBM InfoPrint 2000 should achieve a more attractive price point in the coming months.

Canon unveiled its new suite of high-speed, black-and-white digital copiers. According to the latest press release from Canon, the new imageRUNNER Pro 7150VP, imageRUNNER Pro 7138VP, imageRUNNER Pro 7125VP and imageRUNNER Pro 7110VP operate at 150 pages-per-minute (ppm), 138 ppm, 125 ppm and 110 ppm, based on letter-sized documents, respectively.

With improvements to the feeding mechanism and improved capacity, the digital production systems are being targeted towards commercial printers and in-plant printing facilities. These are the workhorse copiers on which booklets, packets, and legal documents are routinely produced.

If you're considering a Canon IR 110 or a Digimaster 9110, please consider talking to JJ Bender.

Cash Flow in Copier Leasing

You have to consider cash flow when you are considering a copier lease. An equipment lease is often the best way to mitigate a tight cash flow in the startup phase of your business. There might just be even more leeway than you think in a copier lease.

Standard Lease

A standard lease typically requires the first and last payment up front, and then equal payments for the term of the lease. The lease term is likely anywhere from 2 to 5 years.

Step Up Lease

A step up lease is sometimes structured around higher priced equipment, such as digital copiers or printers. Payments begin at a very low level and then step up over the course of the lease to a higher, regular payment. The step up lease is designed to help startups receive the latest equipment without adversely impacting cash flow.

Deferred Payment Lease

A deferred payment lease usually offers the lessee a period of time, typically 90 days, before the second payment is due. Therefore, a copier lease might featured a deferred payment to allow a startup business to generate revenue.

There are a variety of options at the end of each of these leases. If you're considering an equipment lease, consider JJ Bender

Digital Copier Leasing 101

The best digital copier lease is a hybrid- a copier that produces black-and-white and color copies.

On the less expensive end, the Xerox DocuColor 2060 and Xerox 6060 have become more affordable with the introduction of the Xerox 8000 and Xerox iGen3. Other digital pressses, including the Konica Minolta CPP500, Nexpress 9110, and Canon CLC 5000 offer affordable digital press alternatives.

A hybrid copier primarily produces black-and-white copies, but is fully capable of producing high quality color copies in high volume. You'll save money on copier toner and supplies. In addition, you will have the flexibility to meet a variety of customer's needs. Leasing the equipment will allow you to shift in accordance with any changes in your business or industry. Carbonless Paper Available for Xerox iGen3

Xerox announced earlier this week that it has a new paper, digital carbonless paper, available for the Xerox iGen3. The Xerox DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press is the largest and most powerful digital color copier available from Xerox today.

The new paper is treated to allow in-plant printing operations and commercial printers to print multi-part bank statements at between 90 and 110 pages per minute depending on whether a customer owns the Xerox iGen3 or Xerox iGen3 110.

According to the press release, the Digital Carbonless paper will allow printers to highlight content or add company logos in color. Moreover, multi-part bank statement can now be printed on-demand, rather than off pre-printed forms.

"Our customers have had great success printing multi-part forms on-demand using Xerox's carbonless paper," said Steve Simpson, vice president, Xerox Supplies Business Group. "Customers have reported saving up to 40 percent in cost and up to 50 percent in time using carbonless paper instead of manually collating sets of documents."

The Xerox iGen3 is the latest machine that can use the carbonless digital paper, which was introduced last year to work with black-and-white and color digital copiers. If you're looking for assistance in using buying, selling, or leasing a Xerox DocuColor iGen3, please consider talking to JJ Bender.

JJ Bender Releases FIND-IT: An International Digital Equipment Peripheral Program

As the digital color equipment marketplace expands internationally, regional suppliers are struggling to find the peripherals and accessories that commercial printers need. In an effort to meet the demand, JJ Bender announces the introduction of ‘FIND-IT,’ a concierge service for international customers that are looking for hard-to-find peripherals for digital equipment.

In an effort to meet consumer demand, JJ Bender, the world’s largest buyer and seller of Xerox production equipment, has created a system for ordering digital color peripherals that is designed to improve the worldwide distribution of parts and supplies.

The first group of peripherals that will be included in the ‘FIND-IT,’ program are the network and print boards for several models in the Canon imageRUNNER series. Network printing boards and fax boards are scarce resources that can unlock significant cost savings and allow machines to improve productivity through network connections. By including older modes like the IR2200 and IR2800 all the way up to the IR5000, IR6000, and IR105, JJ Bender will be able to reach users on all ends of the digital spectrum.

As part of the concierge service, international equipment dealers and end users can submit requests via JJ Bender’s online system at www.jjbender.com, or speak directly to a parts or peripherals expert. With over 26 years of experience with digital production equipment, JJ Bender is the world leader in understanding the availability and capacity of existing digital copiers and printers.

The ‘FIND-IT’ program is the latest initiative from JJ Bender, which has been reaching out to international clients this year with a variety of tailored programs. JJ Bender has assisted with the remanufacturing and conversion of equipment to meet the electronic and spatial requirements of clients in Europe and
